Our Mission and Vision

MHBA Mission

The MHBA exists for people who run their own businesses, and has positioned itself as a relationship based business association. This idea has been developed on the premise that in this sector “business is personal” and affects the lives of millions of Australians and their families and friends.

MHBA Aims

The MHBA aims to:

  • Build and maintain contact with micro and home businesses in the Australian Capital Region (ACR)
  • Represent the micro and home business sector in discussions with local government and other industry groups, and
  • Develop a knowledge based resource centre for micro and home businesses to access information to help them grow their businesses.

The MHBA knows there is a large base of micro and home businesses that are divided geographically, economically and socially.

The MHBA aims to provide a framework of knowledge that will be made available to all micro and home based businesses that, previously has only been available to larger businesses due to economic reasons.

The vision is for a Micro and Home Business Resource Centre that will equip and encourage the sector through the development of a knowledge bank, and other resources.

MHBA Vision

The vision of the MHBA is to be a peak body in providing support, encouragement and representation for the micro and home business sector.

The aim is to build a resource centre that will have physical space as well as an online presence allowing micro and home businesses to tap into a wealth of resources that will allow them to succeed in their endeavours.

The association works towards its vision by being;

  • impartial, understanding the issues of the sector
  • about people, because business is personal
  • there for the life of the business, whatever path they choose
  • an education resource to the community about the sector
  • a central resource facility
  • a business life support system, and
  • relational - building partnerships with government and other organisations.
